Empire Cinemas launched in 2005. The flagship cinema in this newly formed group is The Empire, Leicester Square from which they have taken their name.

They are assembling a new circuit that will become a beacon of quality for film goers. Incorporating their heritage, skills and professionalism into a new premium package they are committed to investing in their cinemas and in their people to ensure that all aspects of an Empire Cinemas experience is truly compelling.

Their plans for the Empire, Leicester Square will restore it to its proud place as the pre-eminent cinema in the UK. They have already installed a 56 thousand-watt THX certified sound system and the UK’s largest cinema screen into the 1,330 seat, stadium-style auditorium where each seat has a superb view of the screen, ample legroom and a reclining design.

Today Empire Cinemas operate 142 screens across 17 cinemas in the United Kingdom.
